Bill Vanderslice  -VP Design Excellence
Mr. Vanderslice was employed by IBM from 1964 to March, 2000. From 
1992 onward, he held executive positions in the IBM corporate 
headquaters.
 
He was appointed director: Systems, Technology and CBB Integration in
1996 and was responsible for developing and deploying a CBB business
process, management system, support tools and metrics to all hardware 
business units. Results realized to date include a 2 point ($450)  
improvement in gross profit. 
 
From 1992 to 1996, he was Director: Hardware Development Business
Process; his leadership led to a 'Bronze' Malcom Baldrige award in 1993. 
He also sponsored the $APPEALS and Portfolio Analysis business 
process as key elements of IPD. In 1989, Mr. Vanderslice was appointed 
Director of technology planning in Technology group. In the period 
from 1984 through 1989, he held several management positions in 
Microelectronics Division headquarters' staff. 
 
Mr. Vanderslice reported as an executive assistant to the division VP of  
Manufacturing and Development from 1983 to 1984.

     His graduate degrees include,
     BS in Engineering, Stevens Institute of
     technology. MS in Electrical Engineering,
     NY University, MS in Management of
     Technology, Sloan School of
     Management, MIT.
From 1966 to 1982, Mr. Vanderslice held management positions in 
product development related to semiconductor memory products, software
CAD, yield and reliability modeling tools for these products. He also
managed the design team that demonstrated to the global industry,
operability and manufacturing yields of the first memory chip based on
what is today known as DRAM technology. He joined IBM Systems
Division as a Senior Associate Engineer in October 1964.
